New Plans by Football League Commission for Crisis Management

The Football League Commission in Iran has prepared guidelines for managing crisis situations such as war or similar emergencies. This decision was taken after the controversies of last season and dissatisfaction among some clubs.

Plan in Case of Incomplete Season

According to the league's plans, depending on the country's situation, there is an option to suspend matches for a few weeks, hold concentrated games in one or two provinces, or completely stop competitions. Additionally, if the season is incomplete, the table status will be reviewed based on team points; if the difference between the top team and others is significant, that team will be declared champions, and for teams at risk of relegation, a play-off will be held if they have a chance to stay.

League officials, referring to the experiences of Belgian and French leagues during the coronavirus pandemic, believe that these guidelines can prevent disputes and subjective decisions in emergency situations.
