A Golden Opportunity for Iranian Coaches
Now, in the new season, there is no foreign coach on the bench of any of the 18 teams in the League One. This move may provide an opportunity for Iranian coaches, as the competition in the League One, without the presence of foreign coaches, may give them more chances to establish their place, gain experience, and prove their abilities.
In recent years, one of the main criticisms of Iranian football has been the reliance of clubs on foreign coaches and the high costs of attracting them. From this perspective, the widespread use of domestic coaches may reduce the costs of the clubs and provide more opportunities for the growth of Iranian coaches. However, this move also has another side to it.
The Absence of Foreign Coaches: A Threat to Technical Quality?
The foreign coaches who have entered Iranian football in recent years, have only been hired to coach teams, not to bring their expertise to the league. However, some of them have also brought their knowledge and experience of football from different countries to the League One. The coaches who have a background in European, Asian, and other top-tier leagues, have brought new training methods, tactical ideas, and different management styles to Iranian football. Their presence has also made the domestic coaches familiar with different styles of football and new training methods.
A Big Test for Iranian Coaches
However, perhaps the most important question of the new season is whether Iranian coaches can make the most of this opportunity. Now, the eyes are more focused on the domestic coaches than ever before. The coaches who have not had the opportunity to coach big teams in the past, are now in charge of the teams in the League One and need to prove that Iranian football has the capacity to compete at the highest level of domestic football.
