Iran national football team is seeking to move their World Cup matches to Mexico due to the US and Israel's air strikes on Iran and Iran's retaliation. The president of the Iran Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, announced that they are in talks with FIFA to relocate the team's matches to Mexico. Taj stated: 'When Trump explicitly stated that he cannot ensure the security of the Iranian national team, we will certainly not travel to America.' Iran is currently scheduled to play their three group matches in the US and may end up playing in the US again in the knockout rounds. FIFA is reviewing Iran's request.
