According to Hamshahri Online, the Iranian national volleyball team has recently started training for the Asian Championship, which is an Olympic qualifying event. One of the players who currently feels a void in the national team's roster is Mitham Salehi, who plays as a powerful receiver. He was once one of Iran’s top volleyball players and played alongside Milad Abadipour as the receiving duo in the Olympics five years ago before being sidelined due to injuries in his shoulder and collarbone. At 28 years old, Salehi has not been selected for the national team despite Roberto Piateka's invitation last year. For over two seasons now, his absence from the league has been felt, and it is speculated that if Piateka had included a player like him in the team’s lineup, the national volleyball team of Iran could have achieved much better results.
