In the lead-up to the 26th edition of the Iranian Premier League, the referees' training course began on Thursday, August 8, in Isfahan. At the same time, a physical fitness test was held for 41 referees and 70 assistant referees present in the classes to evaluate their physical fitness status before the start of the new season. In this test, all the referees present successfully passed the physical fitness test and for the first time in recent decades, none of the referees participating in this test were rejected. In the assistant referees section, except for 10 assistant referees who have only experience in national competitions and need to complete the evaluation process, other assistant referees were successful in achieving the required threshold. Also, seven referees present in the elite list of Iranian football in this test did not participate. These referees will participate in the AFC referees' seminar in Uzbekistan in the coming days, according to the program of this confederation. The successful holding of the referees' training course and physical fitness test is an important step in preparing referees and assistant referees for participation in the new season of the Iranian Premier League. Currently, the Iranian national football team is preparing to participate in the 2026 World Cup. The last result of the Iranian national team against Egypt was 1-1.
