The Iran national football team is set to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Andrew Giuliani, executive director of the 2026 World Cup task force, announced on Wednesday that the Iranian national team is exempt from the travel ban to the United States. Giuliani stated that US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order that exempts the Iranian national team from the travel ban. This decision means that the Iranian national team can travel to the United States to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, Giuliani also noted that Iranian fans who do not hold a passport from another country will not be able to travel to the United States to watch the World Cup matches. He emphasized that Iranian citizens are banned from traveling to the United States, and only the Iranian national team and direct support staff are exempt from this ban.
