Excelsior Holland has shared interesting photos for introducing Alireza Jahanbakhsh, their new and experienced player. In these images, Jahanbakhsh is seen wearing his Excelsior kit in different poses. One of the images features a letter A while another shows him touching an Iranian symbol on his jersey.
The letter A also holds more than just a simple sign. It represents Alireza's name, which he will now be seen with in Dutch football. As if Excelsior has already included a part of Jahanbakhsh's personal story from the beginning by using this symbol.
But perhaps the most intriguing part is the Iranian symbol on his jersey. A reminder of his homeland and past that he brings to Holland along with years of experience playing at the highest level in Europe.
Jahanbakhsh has now returned to a land where some of the important years of his football career were spent; this time with the experience of playing at the top level in Europe for many years, carrying a symbol of his past and identity.
