Official Representative Announcement
Owner of Istanbul Buzkurut Club, Mahmoud Samedi, announced that Ahmad (Adnan) Karimian has been selected as the club’s official representative in Iran. Karimian has experience in media, journalism, and reporting for International News Network, National Sports Channel, and Channel 3 TV, and holds a global CLC certification in Sports Management and Leadership from the TAFISA Global Sports Association.
Club History
Istanbul Buzkurut was founded in 1969 and operated until 2000 and 2001. After the founder’s death, the club’s activities slowed. About three and a half years ago, it was purchased by two Iranians and resumed operations. The club participates in various Turkish football competitions, can play in the second amateur league and federation tournaments, and has no special restrictions on foreign players.
Sports Activities and International Cooperation
The Istanbul Buzkurut Cultural and Sports Club can operate in various sports and all age groups for men and women. After obtaining the necessary permits, it can participate in competitions and tournaments. Negotiations with Iranian volleyball and wrestling federations have taken place, and once legal steps are completed, the club can compete in Turkey’s leagues.
The club collaborates with clubs such as Galatasaray, Besiktas, and Fenerbahce in academies, scouting, coach and referee training, and joint camps. The main goal of this representation is to create an effective link between Iranian and Turkish football: hosting camps, friendly matches, coach and referee courses, academy cooperation, and introducing Iranian players and talents to Turkish clubs.
Role of Ahmad (Adnan) Karimian
Given his media, managerial, and sporting connections, Ahmad (Adnan) Karimian was chosen as the official representative. The formal representation letter has been sent to the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Football Federation, and legal procedures have been completed. The representation is currently pursuing administrative steps and hopes to commence official activities with officials’ coordination.
Future Outlook
Owner Samedi noted that Turkish football has significant infrastructure, soft-skill, and networking resources, while Iranian football boasts abundant talent. Structured cooperation between the two countries could provide opportunities for Iranian players, coaches, and referees on the international stage. He thanked the Minister of Sports and Youth, the Football Federation president, and other officials who supported the development of these collaborations.
