Shabnam Alikhani, captain of Iran's women's volleyball team, after winning 3-1 in the first match of the 2026 Asian Championship against China Taipei, stated that "the precise analysis and understanding of China Taipei boosted the players' self-confidence, enabling us to defeat this fast team, and this was evident on the court today."

In her remarks, Alikhani congratulated the technical staff, the federation president, and all of Iran, hoping to maintain the "powerful momentum" throughout the tournament. She noted that the federation president has always had a special view toward women, and that after returning to the national team for about one and a half years, she feels this support strongly.

Alikhani emphasized that "all thoughts, minds, and efforts are focused on the development of women, and their perspective has become more special compared to the past," and she hopes the team will be worthy of this love and affection to repay some of the federation president's efforts.

The Iran women's national volleyball team will play at 15:00 on Monday, 2nd of Shahrivar, in their second match against China in the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.
