Severe Warning
General Hossein Mohebbi, spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), issued a televised warning on Monday that any U.S. attempt to target Iran’s critical infrastructure would provoke heavy strategic strikes on America’s vital interests. He stated that the U.S. has miscalculated Iran’s military capabilities, particularly its production of smart, precision-guided missiles, and that Iran continues this activity.
Mohebbi said the United States now fully understands that if it operationalizes its threats against Iranian infrastructure, it will face heavy strategic blows at energy chokepoints and against its own vital interests. He noted that these strikes would occur at key energy points and vital U.S. resources.
Response to Trump’s Claims
In an interview with Fars News Agency, Mohebbi addressed former President Donald Trump’s remarks about the ownership of the Strait of Hormuz. He dismissed Trump’s claims as baseless, unrealistic, and fantasy, noting that no U.S. warships are currently present in the Persian Gulf. He added that before the war, at least 30 to 40 U.S. warships were stationed in the Gulf, but today none are present, and U.S. military assets are located at least 400 km away from the Strait of Hormuz.
100 % Readiness
Mohebbi emphasized that Iran’s readiness remains at 100 % and that no disruption has ever occurred in the IRGC’s operational readiness. He pointed out that the field conditions and observations in the region differ from the claims of the other side.
Failure to Reopen the Strait
The general also highlighted the failure of the enemy’s theatrical attempt to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, stating that such objectives have remained unachieved due to Iran’s deterrence posture and regional influence. He warned that any effort to reopen the Strait would fail against Iran’s defensive capabilities.
Message to the International Community
Mohebbi added that journalists and media outlets can use extensive resources and satellite data to examine the actual status of vessel traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and reveal the reality to the world. He said that if the Strait is truly under American control, the U.S. should demonstrate its presence in the region and prove its claims on the ground.
This warning comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides exchanging warnings over military posturing and strategic assets in the Persian Gulf region.
