The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) released its latest Power Ranking ahead of the fourth window of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers. Iran is ranked fifth in Asia, having a record of five wins and one loss in the first round, and has advanced to the second stage of qualification.

Australia tops the list with six straight victories. Japan, New Zealand, Lebanon, and Iran occupy the second to fifth positions. Qatar, China, Philippines, Jordan, South Korea, Syria, and Saudi Arabia are ranked sixth to twelfth.
FIBA Praises Iran’s Readiness
FIBA described Iran as one of the most prepared teams for the competition, citing three consecutive wins. The performance of experienced Iranian players, especially Ershlan Kazemi, who has drawn attention with his all-round play on both ends of the court, was highlighted.
Matches in the Fourth Qualification Window
Iran will face New Zealand and the Philippines in the fourth qualification window, with both matches hosted in Manila, Philippines.
